How did you get started doing this type of work? I've been helping people with Fitness ever since I was 18 through my professional years as a fitness-wellness coordinator as a Civilian with the Department of Army.
What types of customers have you worked with? I have worked with many types of clients from prenatal, to athletic, to 300 plus pounds. I mostly work with customers wanting weight loss and muscle toning. The key is not to lose healthy weight in the process and not to focus solely on the scale. There are plenty of non-scale victories to be had.
Describe a recent project you are fond of & how long did it take? I recently helped a client do something we all take for granted, sleep in their own bed! This client came to me, not because of the scale, but because my client wanted to climb a couple stairs without stopping for a breathe and sleeping in a recliner. Two months later my client was able to get both things accomplished. A very joyful day indeed!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work? Quality over quantity is a general theme as well as focusing on positive habits first. What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project? Not only what they want from the transformation, but why they want it. The "why" keeps us on track and the why keeps us from turning back to negative habits, hopefully. Truly find out what the professional's background is and experience is one thing, but there must be a common fit (positive connection) for the trainer and the client to ensure success.
